Blocking Pop-Ups in Google Chrome

Blocking Pop-ups in Chrome


Google Chrome tends to block popup ads by default. You will often observer a mark in the address bar when a popup is blocked. In case you are getting pop-ups in your Google Chrome, then you need to take the following steps.

  • Open Google Chrome and click on the three vertical dots in the upper right-hand corner.
  • A drop-down menu will open and click on Settings.
  • A new window will open and you need to scroll down. Click on Advanced.
  • Under Privacy and Security look for Content Settings.
  • Here you can control the information websites can use and display. When you click on it, it will open a drop down list that contains Popups. If it says Allowed, click on it and a new page will open.
  • Here, click on the button and it will lead to blocking of Popups.
This is all you need to do block pop-ups in Chrome. You can even Add certain sites you permanently want to block pop-ups and even Allow certain websites and their pop-ups.

Even after disabling or blocking pop-ups in Chrome, you still get pop-ups; it means there is a malware affecting your computer.
