How to Configure Router Using IP

Many broadband routers have as their default IP address.

With the help of this IP address, you can configure your router and create your wireless network.

Configuring Router Using

You need to follow the steps below to configure your router using IP address.

  • After connecting the router to your computer using an Ethernet cable, turn on the modem and router power supply.
  • Open any browser on your computer and enter the IP address
  • You will be asked to enter a username and password to enter the admin page of the router.

    • Most of the routers have admin as the username as well as password. In some cases, username is admin and the password is left blank. If you are confused, check the instruction manual for the default username and password.
    • In some cases, the username and password is printed on the device itself. Or you can always Google your router name and model number and find the default username or password.
    • Once you get access to the admin page, you can change the settings as per your needs.
    • You can change the network name as well as password for your network. Keep the security encryption at WPA2 or WPA2-PSK[AES], for maximum security from eavesdroppers and hackers.

Save your changes and open the Network and Sharing Center on your computer. Connect your computer to your WiFI network. Enter your WiFi password and you will not be able to use the Internet using your WiFi network.
