These settings are based on 'Ratings' or 'Approved Sites'. You can even allow or disallow websites irrespective of the site rating from the 'General' tab.

Windows 8 users can block adult websites by clicking on 'Network and Internet'. Go to ‘Control Panel’’ and select ‘Network and Internet’. Here, select ‘Internet Options’ and click on the ‘Content’ tab.

Select the ‘Family Safety’ button and choose ‘Standard User- Family Safety on Password Protect’. Click on the accounts you want to block the adult websites and select ‘On’. Now, choose ‘Web Filtering’ and select ‘Only use the websites I allow’. In the restriction level, choose ‘Designed for children’. Close the Internet Options window now and from now all adult websites will be blocked from kids.

There are many site-blocking software or programs available that keeps adult content from popping up in a child’s view. Some of the useful software that prevents monitors as well as restricts your child’s Internet viewing include:

Blocking Unwanted Apps on Google Play Store

If you worry about your kids downloading apps from Google store that are inappropriate for their age, then carry out the following steps to filter out unwanted apps.
  • Go to Google Play Store and click on the three stacked lines on the upper left corner of your screen.
  • Select ‘Settings’ and choose ‘Parental Controls’. Tap on it to turn it On.
  • You will be asked to create a PIN that will help you set parent controls.
  • Now, set restrictions for Apps, Games, Movies, TV as well as Music.
This will help keep away unwanted, adult content from being downloaded on your kid’s device without your consent.
