Changing the Default Search Engine in Google Chrome


You need to open Google Chrome and click on the three vertical dots icon on the right hand corner of the screen.

A drop-down menu will appear. Scroll down to Settings. A new page will open with Settings. Here, scroll down and you will find a tab Default Browser. It will read the name of your default browser, that is, Google Chrome. Just under it you will find On Startup.

In the On Startup page you will find 3 options:


  • Open the New Tab page
  • Continue where you left off
  • Open a specific page or set of pages


In the last option, you can edit the default search engine. Just tap the three vertical dot icon and you will see two options Edit and Remove. Click on Edit and enter www.google.com as your default search engine

If you want you can also add a new page.

This is all you need to do to make Google as default search engine in Google Chrome.
